The Guide to Choosing a Plus Sized Swim Suit

Choosing a swimsuit strikes terror into any woman whether size 6 or size 24. It need not be a scary adventure to find a plus sized bathing suit. Plus sized swim suits are not the down to your knees granny dresses with the steel feeling bra cups anymore! They come in many styles and colors that are sure to please any discriminating plus sized woman! So get out from under that umbrella and jump in!

How do you choose a swim suit when you are large? Accentuate the positive and camouflage the negative. Are you heavy in your hips, bottom, and thighs? Try a swimsuit with higher cut leg openings to make your legs look longer and a splash of color or detail at your bust area to draw the eye upward and away from the part of your body that you are not as happy with. Are you heavy in the middle of your body? Try a skirted swimsuit to make your body look more balanced and evenly sized. Do you have a small waist but have a large bosom and hips? Try a one color suit with higher cut legs. This will make you look curvy but tall also.

Quality is an important consideration in choosing a plus sized swimsuit. Don't look for the cheapest one, look for the one with strong seams, good fabric, and good lines for your body. Make sure your plus sized bathing suit has a built in bra. It will make you feel more comfortable knowing that "the girls" are safely contained in a quality bra. You want a suit that wears well on you-not one that makes you look like you were poured into it because the fabric looks stretched. So choose a suit based on the quality of the bathing suit itself and how it looks on your body.

Plus sized women need not hide under their umbrellas on the beach anymore. The plus sized swimwear business is churning out hundreds of choices for us each season. The key is to revel in the curves that you have and flaunt them instead of hiding them. Be comfortable in your own body and others will be comfortable with it as well. And if they're not, who cares? So plan that cruise that you have been putting off until you are "thinner" and enjoy life!
